Employers often talk about the skills shortage in the UK and that’s what The Norfolk Exchange is set up to help change. But to succeed we need to work in partnership so we welcome businesses getting involved and we value your help.
- Tell us where the shortages are in your industry. What skills do you need now and in the future?
Why not volunteer the services of people in your organisation to help us to help schools enthuse children about working in your industry in the future?
You could:
- Invite young people to come into your workplace and show them the kinds of work they could do Encourage staff to volunteer some time as mentors to students
- Invite students to shadow a member of staff so they can really understand the world of work
- Set a challenge in our Farm and Food Challenge if you’re part of that industry
- Suggest ideas for projects that will enthuse and excite the next generation of workers? Share them with us.
- Invite teachers and other school staff into your workplace for a day as part of their professional development programme
We’ll help smooth the process by talking to you, learning about you then introducing you to schools that you can work with.
Our advisers are available to help you (and schools) set up or join a project or a mentoring programme and to be on hand while it’s going on.
