Every year The Exchange works with the Nuffield Science Foundation and Aimhigher Norfolk to give students interested in science or technology a chance of hands-on experience with practicing scientists, engineers and others in the field.

Hosts design projects so that the students who join them are actually contributing to the work of the organisation they're with.

Students each receive a £480 bursary from the Nuffield Foundation to cover the four weeks they're on a placement.

Placements are during the summer holidays and hosts include the John Innes Centre, the Institute of Food Research, UEA, the Norwolk and Norwich Hospital, Anglia DNA, the Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn.

Up to 30 students are expected to take part in this summer's Nuffield Science Bursary placements.
